BUILD PLANNING
Define the combination around intended use, operating range, power target, fuel and the surrounding vehicle system.
DORIFAB / ENGINE BUILDING
Performance and motorsport engine builds developed around the intended use, power target and the parts that actually need to survive together.
ENGINE BUILDING WITH A REASON
A good engine build is a combination of specification, measurement, preparation, clearances, assembly and the way the engine will actually be used. Dorifab approaches the build as a complete system rather than a pile of upgraded parts.
BUILD SCOPE
The exact scope depends on the engine and project. Work can range from planning and inspection through to a complete assembled engine.
Define the combination around intended use, operating range, power target, fuel and the surrounding vehicle system.
Assess the condition of the core, identify damage or wear and establish what can be reused, replaced or upgraded.
Critical measurements and clearances are treated as part of the build specification rather than left to assumption.
Crankshaft, rods, pistons, bearings and fasteners selected and assembled as a combination appropriate to the target.
Cylinder head and valvetrain requirements considered around RPM, boost, camshaft choice and the intended operating range.
Oiling, breathing, sealing, temperature control and supporting systems considered where they affect how the engine survives the job.
THE PROCESS
Engine builds are scoped around actual measurements and the intended operating conditions. Parts are selected to work as a combination, not in isolation.
Start with the use case, goals, constraints, existing parts and realistic operating conditions.
Establish the condition of the core and collect the measurements needed before the build specification is finalised.
Select components and clearances around the actual engine, intended use and supporting systems.
Complete the required cleaning, checking, machining and preparation before final assembly.
Assemble the engine methodically, verify critical dimensions and document the final combination where appropriate.
BEFORE WE START
Tell us what you already own before more components are selected. Existing hardware can change the sensible build direction.
Required machining is confirmed from inspection and measurement. Specialist machining may be coordinated where it forms part of the agreed build scope.
Power, RPM, boost, fuel, service interval and intended use all influence the specification. The target needs to match how the engine will actually be used.
Turbo system, cooling, oiling, fuel, ECU, wiring and drivetrain can all affect the final engine package and should be considered early.
ENGINE BUILD ENQUIRY
Tell us what engine you have, what it is going into, how it will be used and what you want the finished combination to achieve.
If you already own major components, include them. Existing parts can materially change the most sensible build path.
