CAD & COMPONENT DESIGN
TURN THE REQUIREMENT INTO GEOMETRY.
Development of custom motorsport components around function, interfaces, packaging and the way the part will actually be manufactured.
SERVICES / ENGINEERING
Motorsport engineering and design for components, systems and packaging problems that need to work in the real car — not just on the screen.
FUNCTION FIRST
Good engineering starts with the actual requirement. Packaging, loads, interfaces, manufacturing, service access and the way the vehicle is used all shape the final solution.
ENGINEERING CAPABILITIES
Dorifab can develop individual components, solve packaging problems and support larger systems where design and fabrication need to meet cleanly.
01
TURN THE REQUIREMENT INTO GEOMETRY.
Development of custom motorsport components around function, interfaces, packaging and the way the part will actually be manufactured.
02
MAKE EVERYTHING FIT BEFORE IT FIGHTS FOR SPACE.
Resolve component placement, clearances, access and interfaces before fabrication or installation makes the layout expensive to change.
03
DESIGN THE PART YOU CAN ACTUALLY BUILD.
Develop parts with material, process, tooling, assembly and fabrication requirements considered from the beginning.
04
CONNECT THE PARTS CLEANLY.
Engineering of brackets, mounts, adapters and interfaces where fit, load path, packaging and service access all matter.
05
LOOK PAST THE SINGLE COMPONENT.
Design support for assemblies and vehicle systems where several components must work together rather than being treated in isolation.
06
ITERATE UNTIL THE SOLUTION MAKES SENSE.
Refine existing concepts or components when the first version needs better packaging, manufacturability, serviceability or integration.
DEVELOPMENT PROCESS
The objective is not to create the most complicated part. It is to create the right part, with the geometry, interfaces and manufacturing decisions resolved before it reaches the car.
Establish what the component or system must do, what it connects to and the constraints that cannot be ignored.
Work through dimensions, clearances, movement, access and surrounding components before committing to the geometry.
Shape the solution around the material and manufacturing method so the design can move cleanly from CAD into a real part.
Check mounting, assembly, service access and how the finished component interacts with the rest of the vehicle.
DESIGN OUTPUT
The required output depends on the job. Some projects need a finished manufactured part; others need design data or documentation that can move into the next stage.
COMPONENT / ASSEMBLY DATA
Digital component and assembly geometry developed around the agreed engineering scope.
DIMENSIONS / DETAILS / OUTPUT
Drawings and manufacturing information where the project requires controlled dimensions or clear production data.
DESIGN INTO HARD PARTS
Engineering developed with the fabrication method, material and assembly sequence considered so the part can move into production cleanly.
DESIGN + MANUFACTURE
Where appropriate, Dorifab can carry the engineered solution through into a finished fabricated or manufactured component.
WHEN ENGINEERING HELPS
Engineering is most useful when the project has real constraints, multiple interfaces or a part that needs to be developed before fabrication or manufacture begins.
The vehicle needs a purpose-built component or interface because available parts do not solve the packaging or functional requirement.
Packaging is becoming the problem and the component layout needs to be resolved before more fabrication or installation happens.
You know what the solution needs to do but the geometry, material, interfaces or production method still need to be worked through.
An existing part works in principle but needs better fit, access, strength, assembly or integration before the next version is made.
ENGINEERING ENQUIRY
Send through the vehicle or project, the problem, what already exists and what you need at the end of the job.
